Basic Accounting: Reflection Essay
In this module, the important lessons I learned is to understand the concepts of accounting, both theories and practical exercises. Not only I learned to write up various accounting reports of a business in the exercises provided, but I also learned to analyse and evaluate the business' financial states and recommendations to improve it's position. I also learned to apply accounting theories into the exercises and projects. This is important because I think it is always good to be aware of one's financial state and to make decisions with the results produced. Other than the reports, I am also aware of the different types of business ownership and the laws and principles they have to apply in each of the types of business.
My favourite topic of the lecturers is Trial Balance, as it is the most simple and understandable topic. Unlike the ledgers, I think of Trial Balance as a summarized version of it, which made everything seems more clear and simple. Even the theory part of trial balance made much more sense and is logically explained that both humans and machines will do wrong. My least favourite topic is Balance Day Adjustments, because it tends to get very confusing, and one mistake in evaluating the questions will cause more wrong in the reports. But of course, after getting the hang of it, it really did clear up some confusing parts, even though sometimes I still get blurred with it.
Overall, my experience of the module is clear. Mr Joe, the lecturer's teaching had made it interactive, so that it makes it easier to understand. Mr Joe sometimes arranged role playing, make it easier to remember as they are usually humorous.

Reflection (Principle of Economics)
Principle of Economics: Reflection Essay
From this module, the important lessons I learned is to apply the economics theories and concepts into the projects and class activities. One very important thing I learned from is to be familiar the basics, like the demand and supply curve, because the following lecturers are mostly related to them, that was why in the beginning I tried to be familiar with the basic topics. The reason those basic topics are important to me is because I think in the economy in the society is a very complicated, and for me who did not learn take up the economics subject in high school, it was initially a fresh and unfamiliar topic. But after learning about economics, I learned to relate the terms with the actual economy in the world.
My favourite topic is Price Theory, which includes the demand curve and supply curve. It is because I think they are easy to understand and I am able to relate the theories into the actual world. For example when Mr Joe, the lecturer, told us about an example of the situation, and when I was in the situation I could actually imagine how the economy works there. My least favourite topic is Theory of Firm Production and Cost, which includes the law of diminishing returns and law of increasing returns. This is because initially I was quite confused with the laws applied as I sometimes think it doesn't make sense. But after quite some time of learning them only I get the topic.
Overall, I think the module is clear and easy to understand. For example I think the topics are well organized by Mr Joe, and his teachings and examples make the topics much easier to understand.

Accounting Exercise
Basic Accounting: Exercises
These are some of the accounting exercises we did during classes assigned by our lecturer, Mr Joe. Some other exercises are theory questions but I had chosen the practical questions and answers. I think the practical questions are much more important, and Mr Joe did great questions for us to work on.
Exercise 2.2 - Balance Sheet
These are the questions (slides) and answers (pictures) for the exercise 2.2, balance sheet.
Exercise 3.0 - Trial Balance
These are the questions (slides) and answers (pictures) for exercise 3.0, trial balance.

A Tale of Two Businesses
Principle of Economics: Assignment
This project is about comparing two similar businesses. We are supposed to visit and interview the two businesses, one within Klang Valley and the other outside of it. After the interview we have to produce a business report and then analyse the information to be evaluated for the recommendation.
The learning outcomes of this project is for the students to be familiar with the economical data, and also to compare and analyse the type of market competition of the business.
My group had chosen the topic of Food and Beverages, and had focused on noodle shops. These are the two noodle shops we had chosen:

Social Psychology: Assignment Three
The first part of this assignment we were supposed to include at least 5 social psychology concepts into a video, could be a sketch or a social experiment, and then make a report from according to that video. We have to relate the concepts with a situation or in our practical environment. We have to also film a video of our scenes ideas or social experiment.
For the second part of the assignment we are required to compile all information into a slideshow, and then using the slides for presentation length of 20 minutes.
Our story is about the comparison between lecturers and students, for example how are the social psychology concepts applied in their daily lives. Hence, the title of the video below.
Part One: Video Clip and Report
Part Two: Group Presentation
Reflection:
From this project I learned the right way to apply social psychology concepts into the daily lives of people we are surrounded everyday, which is in the campus. It requires critical thinking to come up with examples of how the concepts are actually used in the real world. I also learned that in this group project, it is really important for a good teamwork spirit because of the requirement that all the group members have to be included in the video, everyone have to participate in the discussion for ideas and that everyone have to learn to accept each other's ideas.

Comic Strip
Social Psychology: Assignment Two
For this assignment, we were to work in groups of 5. The task is to draw a single comic strip with one story line, and in the comic we have to incorporate 5 different social psychology concepts from 5 different chapters. During the submission day we then have to present the story of our comic and also the social psychology concepts used in the comic.
For my group, we had drawn about a boy name Lee, who participate in a sprint competition and was aiming to get the first place but got the second instead:
Reflection:
From this project I learned to incorporate social psychology concepts into the comic appropriately, and using the concepts to develop the comic story. Also, I found that it is important that the whole group agree on one story and the concepts so that the comic can be done without obstacles. Other than that, I also learned that it is important to communicate well to convey the concepts during the presentation properly, and to organize the information tidily and well in the presentation slides.

Effective Public Communication: Assignment Three
Reflection:
From this project I learned to communicate well during the interviews with the businesses, and also to listen well to the interviewee's words, as sometimes not only the words matter, but the way they speak matters too. I also learned to organize and summarise information for the slides, and to present the information in a clear and logical manner. I think the right attitude to go with these outcomes is to be more sociable and polite because it involves interviewing with the business. At the end of the module, I learned to be evaluate information from a business and also to be good in presenting the information founded. But one of my weakness is that I tend to get nervous during presentation, but my strength is to be making the slides more informative. I also realized by the end of the module I get better at presenting.
Taylor's Graduate Capabilities:
This project incorporates with other two subjects, English II and Principle of Economics. Even so, all three subjects have different contents as submission. For this project, we were supposed to work in groups of 4 to interview two different businesses of the similar types of business, one within Klang Valley and the other outside of it.
For Effective Public Communication, we were supposed to make a present based on the information from the information gathered in the report for the two other subjects. In the slides we had included background of the businesses, competitors and challenges of the business, recommendation for the business and more. After compiling all the information in the slides, we then have to present the information and record a video of 20 minutes.
Our group had chosen the businesses of Food and Beverages (F&B), we focused on noodle shops. The first business of ours is called Yee Kee Beef Noodles, and our second one is SRK Noodle House.

Mural Painting Presentation
Effective Public Communication: Assignment Two
In this project in groups of 5-7, we are supposed to visit an area with mural paintings (or steel artwork), choose three to four of them, to introduce the artist of the painting, the painting's description and the concepts of effective public communication applied in the painting, compiling them into slides. After then, we have prepare an oral presentation presenting all the information.
Since we are a group of 7, we have to present 4 mural arts. To be fair, 3 of us visited the arts in penang and the rest of us visited the arts in Laman Seni, Shah Alam, and we chose 2 arts from each places. They were all nice and meaningful, so the process of choosing which art to present was fairly difficult.
This is a picture of the artist for the two arts in Penang, Ernest Zacharevic:

Reflection:
Through this assignment I learned to observe the arts as they seemed to be simple at first sight but after some research, it actually brings more meaning to the art. Other than that, I also learned to apply effective public communication concepts into the mural arts and to explain the concepts during the presentation in a clear and detailed way. I'm also aware about the cultural differences messages they have in the arts and to respect each intercultural races. I think the right type of attitude to go with those learning outcomes is to be determined and to be observant. After completing the module I realized that my weakness is to elaborate during presentations, but after a few more presentations, I think I get better at it. I think the amount of presentations are important, as each of them are counted as a training.

English II: Assignment Two
Reflection:
From this project I learned that it is important to watch the words and language in a formal report writing. It is always important to try to convey the information clearly and logically. I also learned to organize and analyse the scattered information into a tidy report, like which part belongs to which. Lastly, I also learned to present properly for a formal presentation, as speaking wise is really important, like the volume and nervousness, and also to be prepared to be questioned by the lecturer.

I think the right kind of attitude to achieve the learning outcomes is to respect the different cultural attitudes from outside of our state. I learned to use more appropriate academic writings on the blog as it is more of a tourism like blog and that they have to be detailed, logical and clear. Other than that I also learned to use the appropriate and relevant pictures be to included in the blog as to be shown under the category in a more suitable way. Lastly I also learn to communicate properly with the citizens from Kota Kinabalu as each of us have a different culture and it is important to know the intercultural aspects. After finishing the module, I learned that The weakness I identified is trying to write down good descriptions in the blog, and I learned to work with my team mates to come up with a more creative way to convey messages on the blog.
