Reflection:
From this project I learned that it is important to watch the words and language in a formal report writing. It is always important to try to convey the information clearly and logically. I also learned to organize and analyse the scattered information into a tidy report, like which part belongs to which. Lastly, I also learned to present properly for a formal presentation, as speaking wise is really important, like the volume and nervousness, and also to be prepared to be questioned by the lecturer.

Reflection:
The learning outcomes for this project is leaning to apply the correct effective public communication concepts into situations to be included into the photo blog, and also to learn to present well during the presentation with proper English language. I think the right kind of attitude to achieve the learning outcomes is to respect the different cultural attitudes from outside of our state. I learned to use more appropriate academic writings on the blog as it is more of a tourism like blog and that they have to be detailed, logical and clear. Other than that I also learned to use the appropriate and relevant pictures be to included in the blog as to be shown under the category in a more suitable way. Lastly I also learn to communicate properly with the citizens from Kota Kinabalu as each of us have a different culture and it is important to know the intercultural aspects. After finishing the module, I learned that The weakness I identified is trying to write down good descriptions in the blog, and I learned to work with my team mates to come up with a more creative way to convey messages on the blog.

Individual Journal

Social Psychology: Assignment One

This project requires us to write 5 journals of 10 entries relating our daily lives and experience with the Social Psychology concepts. For each journal we should incorporate 2 concepts from each chapter, so that both the entries from one journal can relate more to each other. In each of the journal other than giving examples of our life experience we should also explain the concepts. We were to type out the entries instead of hand writing.

Reflection:
From this project I learned to relate social psychology concepts with my life that I was totally unaware of. By relating my life experience with the psychological concepts, I understood that the experience I had was based on a psychological concept and that many people were experiencing the same feeling or attitude, as to compare how I used to think I was the only one thinking that way. Not only that, I learned to gain awareness of how people react or behave to certain matters more deeply.

Financial Ratio Analysis

Basic Accounting: Assignment

This assignment is about relating accounting calculations with a chosen business's financial states, where the company provides goods rather than services, for two years, 2012 and 2013. This is a group work of 2 to 3 members, and our group had chosen McDonald's Corporation.

We have to first research about McDonald's Corp's history, background and recent development. Then from the accurate accounting reports from official financial information websites (like Yahoo! Finance) we have to search for the three accounting reports: Income Statement, Balance Sheet, Cash Flow Statement. We have to come up with calculations regarding the accounting's financial ratio analysis. Using the results, we then need to find the price/earning ratio (P/E ratio), and then interpret the investment recommendation at the end of the report.

Reflection:
What I learned from this project is to understand and summarize the information of a company's background. I also learned to interpret information found from the other websites and using the information in calculations for the ratio analysis. This way I could easily assess the company's states at the moment and try to provide investment decision for the company. And last of all, I learned to communicate well with my group mates to provide information for the company that we all agreed on.

Survey and Statistics

Mathematics: Assignment

In this project we're supposed to collect data through surveys, and then using the data to create statistics. The reason statistics are used is because analysing statistics are easier to organize, understand and to make predictions. Since we have to survey the understanding of the respondent's towards a chronic disease, we had chosen Diabetes.

Reflection:
From this project I learned that it is really easy to organize numerical data through statistical analysis. Using the data to create charts and tables are also another way for easier prediction of a certain fact. With that, it is easier to draw a conclusion of the understanding of our respondents towards diabetes. Other than that, I also learned to communicate better by asking people to fill the survey forms we had created because sometimes, we need to try to convey the survey questions to our respondents.

Surface Area and Volume

Mathematics: Class Activity

This exercise is required for us to first calculate the proportions of a model, do some calculations, and then build the model out. The model should be of manilla card thickness. This exercise is not only for all the team mates to work together to build a model out, but to also apply the theories learned about each shape and volume and join all of them to produce the right calculation and then using the calculation to build the model.

Exercise Question

Surface area proportions

Calculations

Reflection:
Through this exercise I learned to use the taught theories into the calculation. Using the calculation, it can then produce an accurate result, and then create a proportioned model. Other than that I also learned that it is important to have teamwork nevertheless discussing about the calculations or building the model.

Compare and Contrast Essay: Musical Movies

English II: Assignment One

This is the first assignment for English II, where we were required to write a Comparative/Contrast Essay regarding two movies. We were to choose two movies of the same genre, either Dramedy (Drama and Comedy) or Musical. We have to first research about the genre we had chosen for a better understanding and then choose the two films within the genres.

We have to choose to write either a compare or a contrast essay, and in our essay we have to discuss about the genre we had chosen in the introduction. The essay should be of 600 to 1000 words within 6 paragraphs. Other than essay, we have to also write pre-writing points to make sure the essay is on the right track.

The genre I had chosen is musical, and the two movies I am comparing is Tangled (2010) and Anastasia (1997).

Reflection:
From this project I learned to interpret movie genres, because sometimes I tend to only look at the surface meaning of a certain genre when it has a deeper meaning. I also learned to make use of pre-writing wisely as it is a very useful way of writing essays when it comes to writing comparative essays. Besides that, what I learned from this project is also to pay attention of the movies in order to provide a clear summary and understanding.
